Pros and Cons of organic Mattresses
Organic mattresses are always a better choice over traditional mattresses because of the polyurethane foam which has been proven to potentially cause allergic reactions in people. We also spend so much time of our lives in bed that it’s a good investment to buy a quality mattress.
The natural wool or organic cotton used in the mattress also provides warmth naturally in the cold winter time. Some mattresses such as the Simmons organic mattress have the special characteristic of absorbing humidity to create a dry sleeping environment
Different from traditional mattresses, organic mattresses are comfortable and provide a sound sleep. Even in hot weather, the air circulation in the mattress allows you to breathe with ease and feel relaxed.
When a person is low on sleep, his or her immune system is compromised, making that person more likely to catch an illness. Therefore it’s important that the organic mattress doesn’t play a role in catching diseases.
The natural rubber organic mattresses are made up of dust and mold resistent materials. Its also chemical free and fire retardent. It makes a great mattress for anyone with asthma or respiratory issues.
The disadvantages to using organic mattresses are few and far between. The first disadvantage you might have already noticed is its price. The price of an organic mattress is a lot higher compared to traditional mattresses.
Another bad thing that sometimes comes up is that people have reported incidents of their organic mattress emitting an odor. Finally, the mattress will tend to get worn out with normal use after time which is not uncommon with all mattresses.
When you’re shopping for an organic mattress, beware and find out if its truely organic. Just because its made out of organic wool and cotton does not mean its organic if the mattress is treated with different chemicals. This tends to happen for the cheaper organic mattresses by less reputable companies. Remember, you always get what you pay for!
